The Go Smart Med project brings together 7 partners and 5 regions (Corsica, Liguria, PACA, Sardinia, Tuscany). The project’s common challenge is to provide innovative and integrated management of maritime freight services in the high Tyrrhenian Sea, by improving the link between the secondary and tertiary nodes of the TEN-T cooperation area, in order to
to reduce the isolation of island territories.
To achieve this goal, Go Smart Med is studying a new strategic governance for the innovative management of freight transport services and the coordination of connections between the ports of the regions concerned.
The new optimized system should directly benefit shipping companies (service providers who send / receive goods), port operators (shipping agencies, forwarding agents, port operations agencies, transporters) and indirectly all territories concerned by the project for increased exchange opportunities in a logistics of economic growth.

The project is part of the Interreg Italy-France Marittimo European Community Program 2014-2020, which aims to promote the economic development of companies and to promote the tourist attractiveness of the regions concerned by innovative actions.
Eight partners have been involved since the launch of the program on May 16:
– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cagliari (Sardinia), leader of the program
– Sardinia Region
– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Toulon – Var Provence
– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Livorno (Tuscany)
– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Genoa (Liguria)
– GIP Fipan (Group of Public Interest Training and Professional Integration Academy of Nice)
– CentraLabs (Center for Research and Innovation in the Scientific and Technological Sector)
– Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bastia and Haute Corse
Six cross-border geographical areas are involved: Corsica, Var, Alpes-Maritimes,
Sardinia, Tuscany and Liguria.
Lasting two years, the Itinera program is particularly concerned with the cruise business.
Indeed, it aims to create around the six geographical areas mentioned above, two eco-tourism routes for luxury cruise companies exclusively, and therefore reserved for small units.
The excursion products developed by each partner in order to integrate these 2 itineraries will have to be part of an innovative global theme of sustainable development and biodiversity (discovery and protection of the environment, oeno-gastronomy, art and culture, means of gentle transport …).
In fact, Itinera’s general objective is to increase the international competitiveness of micro-enterprises and SMEs in cross-border priority sectors linked to blue and green growth.
At the end of the program, the two eco-tourism routes that will be jointly developed by the 8 partners will be the object of dedicated commercial missions to luxury cruise ship owners.

The SISTINA project aims to provide the business tourism system with a complete set of tools and to carry out innovative and highly integrated promotional actions that will make the most of the attractive resources of the cross-border area. The project aims at the integrated diversification and the innovative promotion of the tourist offer.
These will enable the seasonalization of inflows and a greater consistency thanks to the multiplier effect of the single cross-border network. SISTINA is funded under the Interreg Italy – France MARITIME Cross-border Cooperation Program 2014-2020 and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
